The Runner’s Guide to the 2026 San Antonio Marathon
GOVX is honored to return as the Official Military and First Responder Community Partner.
Few cities capture the spirit of community quite San Antonio. With vibrant streetscapes and a deep-seated Southwestern pride felt at every turn, Alamo City is a place where color, culture, and connection come together. In short, all of the above makes for a mighty fine setting to mobilize for a marathon.
On the weekend of December 4–6, 2026, thousands of runners will lace up to #RUNSATX for the second annual San Antonio 5K, Marathon and Half Marathon, and GOVX will be back to usher in the citywide celebration as the Official Military and First Responder Community Partner.

MILITARY CITY, U.S.A.
With a connection to the U.S. Armed Forces spanning more than three centuries, San Antonio naturally earned its official trademark as Military City USA in 2017. The city’s military roots run deep, with more than 1 in 8 adult residents having served in uniform, representing one of the highest per-capita veteran concentrations nationwide. Key bases across the area further define this legacy: Lackland AFB welcomes new recruits for Air Force basic training, Fort Sam Houston leads military health education via the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, and Randolph AFB shapes the future of military aviation.
SUPPORT FACE THE FIGHT
San Antonio Sports has once again named Face the Fight as the Official Benefitting Partner of the 2026 San Antonio Marathon. Founded by USAA, the organization is dedicated to reducing veteran suicide by breaking down mental health stigma, raising awareness, and fostering open conversations grounded in support and hope.
To power that mission, runners can directly raise funds for Face the Fight through their race registration, with TEAM GOVX boosting efforts by pledging to match donations up to $25K.
