The GWOT 100 is Team Red, White & Blue’s national 100-mile challenge honoring the service and sacrifice of all who served during the Global War on Terror. Building on the proud 15-year legacy of the Taji 100, Team RWB is carrying forward this tradition of commitment, resilience, and community.
The mission? Complete 100 miles in February of 2027 by any means necessary. Run, walk, ruck, cycle, swim, row, or get your miles in at the gym. Do it solo or team up and crush it with your crew. How it’s done doesn't matter, showing up for our nation’s heroes does.
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE 100
Born at Camp Taji, Iraq — February 2010
The inaugural Taji 100 launched at Camp Taji, a former Iraqi Republican Guard base 20 miles north of Baghdad under U.S. control since 2003. Army Captain Carole DiPardo (211th MP Battalion) challenged her fellow service members to run or walk 100 miles throughout February. Nearly 300 troops answered the call, proving that a simple challenge could build camaraderie, boost morale, and keep physical fitness front and center.
From a Combat Zone to a Nationwide Tradition — 2011
Army medic Paul Fukuma, an original participant, brought the challenge back stateside the following year. The core mission remained unchanged: 100 miles, 28 days, open to all. What began on a dusty base road rapidly evolved into an annual February tradition—keeping participants active while honoring military service.
Carrying the Torch: The Next Chapter
As the original Taji 100 organization stepped down, it partnered with Team RWB to launch its official successor: the GWOT 100. This new evolution carries the mission forward while embracing a new future.

FREE OPTION - Join at no cost and be part of the movement.
BASIC GEAR PACKAGE – Finisher’s medal, race bib, and decal.
FULL GEAR PACKAGE – All Basic Gear plus a commemorative t-shirt.
