It’s crunch time.
In a way, running a marathon is a microcosm of what it takes to be an athlete. You set a goal, you meet (or surpass) the goal, and you move on to the next one. It’s habit forming, in just about the healthiest way imaginable, and ultimately, it feels pretty damn good to earn your rightful place amongst such an accomplished and active community.
Now that this year’s GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K is officially in the books, here’s a look back at the figures that told the story with every last stride.
The total amount of runners to participate in this year’s 2025 GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K. To break it down, that’s 1,000 participants for the 5K and 5,000 for the half marathon. This accumulated amount included a strong contingent from the GOVX community with plenty of active and former duty military, firefighters, EMS workers, law enforcement officers, government workers, and even employees from our very own San Diego office meeting the challenge.
The number of free swag bags handed out by our team during the official Expo/Packet Pickup on Friday and Saturday leading up to the big race. The fastest time clocked this year was registered by half marathon full course champion Eddie Ramos. Proudly representing San Diego, the 33-year-old crushed the 13.1 mile route finishing a full three minutes ahead of the second and third place runners. At the end of the day, that’s a 5:31 min/mi pace. Way to go, Eddie.
As in the 14th annual marathon held right here in our home base of San Diego. This year also marked our second year of having the distinct privilege of serving as the title sponsor.
