At GOVX, every member has a voice, and every opinion matters. While we don’t claim to function as a political forum, we do happen to keep a close eye on the landscape. With 2024 being an election year, a clear objective was set to better understand where the GOVX community stands on the respective candidates and the issues we face collectively as citizens of this great country.
Ultimately, nearly 20,000 members answered the call (and the questions) to participate in The 2024 GOVX Presidential Pulse Check. Now that the results have been collected and the dust has cleared, here’s where our military and first responder community lands in wake of the election year.
Over a four-week period from April 28th to May 28th, 19,748 verified GOVX members from our growing community of Americans with military, first responder, medical, education, or government service backgrounds responded to our Presidential Pulse Check survey.

First and foremost, we wanted to know how the presidential candidates stacked amongst the GOVX community. That was the primary objective and more than likely that’s why you’re here, right? So, let’s get into it.
As of now, it appears that the majority of GOVX members would welcome a return to the Oval Office for the Trump Administration. 69% of all members plan to check off Trump’s name in the box, while just 20% are down for another four years of Joe Biden. We The People leader Robert F. Kennedy Jr. drew 7% of the vote, while write-in candidates ranging from Chase Oliver (Libertarian) to Matthew Pruden (Green) composed the remainder of the responses.

Things aren’t always so Black and White...or in this case Red and Blue. While Republicans represented over half the responses, with 57% of members self-identifying as such, Independents surprisingly took second place at 29%. Democrats finished a distant third at 12%.
As far as the Presidential votes were concerned, each party predictably supported their candidate, though Independents gave Trump the slight edge at 51%.

The more things change, the more they stay the same...mostly. 2020 brought a massive amount of change, because well, a worldwide pandemic will do that. It was also an election year. So much has happened in the four years since, let’s see how, if at all, it’s changed how GOVX voters will respond to this year’s election.
VOTING FOR SAME CANDIDATE - 83%
VOTING FOR DIFFERENT CANDIDATE - 17%
83% of members polled say their vote will remain the same as it did in 2020, with 17% switching it up.
Love him or hate him, the 45th President of the United States stays top of mind. Whether it’s in the news, in the courts, or on social media, it’s nearly impossible to avoid one of America’s most polarizing and at times – divisive figures. With so many members clearly favoring his potential return to office, we needed to know what weight his legal issues held.
YES, TRUMP'S LEGAL ISSUES MATTER - 30%
NO, TRUMP'S LEGAL ISSUES DO NOT MATTER - 70%
As the results show, 70% of members do not take issue with his legal troubles. 30%, however, do feel that the proceedings are of some importance.
Yes, my vote would change - 5%
No, my vote won't change - 95%
Taken prior to Trump’s conviction of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records on May 30th, a resounding 95% foresee it having absolutely no impact on their vote.
As it’s looking more and more like a rematch of the previous Presidential race, it’s important to note that each man will officially have a stint as Commander-and-Chief under their belts. Now 4+ years older than they were back then, age-related questions remain a hot topic as the election year creeps closer.
TRUMP - 28%
BIDEN - 72%
TRUMP - 72%
BIDEN - 28%
For GOVX members, 72% of overall respondents are concerned with Joe Biden’s age, while Trump’s supporters were loud and clear that his respected age, much like his legal issues, will not be an issue. For the record, just a handful of years separate the two, with Trump turning 78 years of age this summer, and Joe Biden due to celebrate his 82nd birthday in November.
No matter how, when, or where you consume your news, there‘s always going to be certain issues that lock you in more than others. That’s just part of what being an American is all about. From our poll, here’s what matters most to GOVX members like you (ranked by importance).
As far as today’s core political issues pertain, GOVX members were worried most about their finances, placing the highest priority on economy/inflation, with border security, and immigration following closely. Amongst the issues that they ranked at the bottom, LGBTQ+ rights, climate change, and women’s rights took the lowest precedence.
As complicated as life in this country can feel at any given moment, identifying the pain points we collectively live with currently is instrumental in igniting future change. Basically, we wanted to know how we’re doing right now and how you feel about the forecast.
