THE DOWN AND DIRTY
Founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 after the purchase of the old World Series of Fighting, and re-launched in 2018 as the Professional Fighters League, the upstart alternative to the UFC has gained notoriety for its unique format as contenders fight for prestige and a major payday.
As it stands today, The PFL has abandoned it previous standings format in favor of a fighter ranking system for each weight class. The rankings establish a baseline competitive framework for PFL athletes, listing the top-10 fighters across nine divisions.
