With the 2024 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour now alive and kicking with dates locked in all across the country, GOVX is proud to pledge a $50 donation to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation for every Qualified Ride.
what’s a Qualified Ride?
For rodeo rookies, getting clarity on what’s considered a Qualified Ride is essential to understanding the end goal for each rider. To earn a Qualified Ride, a rider must successfully ride a bull for a minimum of 8 seconds. Each ride is worth up to 100 points. That’s 50 maximum points for the rider and 50 maximum points for the bull.
The ability to control the buckin’ behemoth helps each rider earn the most points possible from a panel of four judges. For those who are sticklers when it comes to rules, the rider must hold the rope with one hand and keep the other firmly planted in the air during the entire length of the ride. That means that their free hand can’t touch the bull or any part of their own body. If they do, it’s a goose egg in the points column.
What’s the Special Operations Warrior Foundation ALL ABOUT?
Since 1980, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation has kept an enduring promise to provide complete post-secondary educational support and additional educational opportunities aka “cradle to career,” for eligible surviving children of fallen Special Operations Personnel and children of all Medal of Honor Recipients. In addition to their work with families, they also assist with immediate financial assistance for wounded, ill, and injured Special Operations Personnel.
