GOVX is Proud to Serve as Presenting Supporter of the Arizona Diamondbacks 25 Years of Heroes Program
A quarter century later, and to so many, it still feels surreal. On November 4th, 2001 and what was then known as Bank One Ballpark, Luis Gonzalez and the Arizona Diamondbacks defied destiny by walking-off on future Hall-of-Famer Mariano Rivera, capping a ninth-inning rally in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series to sink the New York Yankees dynasty and deliver Phoenix its first World Championship.
To honor this unforgettable team and the legacy forged that day, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation recently launched the 25 Years of Heroes program supported by GOVX. This Arizona-wide campaign connects the spirit of that historic championship squad with the first responders and military members who protect, serve, and strengthen the community every day.
DIAMOND NOTES: THE 25 YEARS OF HEROES PROGRAM
As the presenting supporter, GOVX has stepped up to donate $25K in GOVX credits to local Arizona fire and police stations.
Additionally, the 2001 team will be honored before the September 18th home game vs the New York Yankees, with each Diamondbacks alumni presenting a gift to the corresponding fire or police station that shares their uniform number during a pre-game presentation and tribute to local first responders.
Through the 25 Years of Heroes Car Raffle with Sanderson Ford, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will raise critical funds to support first responders and military communities across the state.
Contributions raised through the purchase of $50 raffle tickets will help provide grants and donations for equipment, technology, mental health resources, healthcare support, scholarships, and other essential needs.
GOVX AND GONZO ON THE SCENE
In August, GOVX joined Diamondbacks legend and passionate first responder advocate Luis Gonzalez and team representatives to visit Phoenix Fire Department Stations 1 and 25. The crew spent time connecting with local firefighters and presented both stations with custom jerseys signed by the 5-time All-Star and MLB Hall-of-Famer Randy Johnson.
