And we were there for it.
It’s not every day you get to put on your best cowboy hat, strap on some boots, and settle in for an action-packed weekend of thrilling PBR action and exclusive access. With GOVX having the honor of serving as the presenting sponsor for the recent PBR Hampton event, it represented a prime opportunity to deploy a few of our finest team members from our San Diego office, formally welcome a hyped-up crowd, and saddle up with old and new pals.
GOVX Had a Major Presence in the Parking Lot
Maybe not in the classic sense, we weren’t leading any pre-event tailgating events or mechanical bull rides.
However, we did work in-depth with Wrapify to swarm the Hampton Arena with a procession of GOVX-branded cars. It was GOVX on the go, and it got the message across.
The US Navy RAGIN’ BULLS Were in the Building
Based out of Naval Air Station Oceana, the US Navy Strike Force Squadron has found inspiration by way of PBR, and bestowed the names of the more noteworthy bulls on their F/A-18E Super Hornets.
For the Hampton event, nearly 200 sailors from the decorated squadron grabbed a seat on the first night and took in the action. Fly bulls fly.
GOVX Got in the Shark Cage
We're not in the business of backing down. For those unfamiliar with the rodeo game, the Shark Cage is a circular 10-foot heavy metal protective enclosure that allows a small selection of spectators to safely watch each ride from an eye-level perspective on the arena floor.
When you’re this close to the 1600-pound behemoths, every bull grunt may as well be a battle cry.
The Honor Foundation Came Along for the Ride
A military non-profit and GOVX Gives Back recipient, representatives from The Honor Foundation proudly joined GOVX for both nights of the event.
Serving as a career transition program for U.S. Special Operations Forces, the foundation’s mission is to transfer their elite military service to the private sector and helps create the next generation of corporate and community leaders.
GOVX Got a Behind-the-Scenes Look
You don’t ascend to the top of the extreme sports world by skimping out on the fan experience.
For those drawn to the dirt, PBR excels at putting on one hell of a show. A mega production of pyrotechnics, special presentations, music and action, seeing it all culminate in an incredible and unforgettable two-day event was an epic experience.
GOVX Took Center Stage
In addition to the signage and strategically placed cars, we also were able to get in front of one of the largest military communities in the nation and speak a little about what makes GOVX, well, GOVX. If you’re going to have your name everywhere, you may as well get your face out there too.
Dener Barbosa Brought Home the Belt Buckle
A Team Series member of the Nashville Stampede, the Brazilian held his own against the buckin’ bulls on route to a first place finish with 171 points registered. As one of the highest ranking riders in the world, Barbosa has quicky become a fan favorite and one of PBR’s elite.
